Thanks to the insanely fast sell out of PechaKucha tickets, we’re moving the PK1 to a larger venue with more seats, free parking, and a great bar! Yep, PechaKucha PHX 1 is going to the Irish Cultural Center in Downtown Phoenix.
Ticket sales will reopen Thursday, April 22, at noon with an additional 35 seats up for grabs. That’s a 50% increase in available seats! Bookmark http://pknphx01.eventbrite.com to get there fast. If you know someone who missed out on PK1 tickets (or you need more of your own), spread the word!
Be sure to print your ticket and bring it with you to the event on April 29th. The bar opens at 6:00 PM, and the event kicks off at 7:00.
The Irish Cultural Center is located at 1106 N Central Avenue, on the west side of the street just south of the Margaret T. Hance Park and north of Portland St. See http://www.pecha-kucha.org/night/phoenix/1 for the map. Onsite parking is free, but limited, so carpool if you can. You’ll find additional free parking on West Culver Street between Central and 3rd Avenues.
It’s almost time for PechaKucha PHX 1. We’re excited to see you there!

Shouldn’t at least the first event be in a comfy, familiar venue? Part of the allure is that you don’t have a bunch of random people showing up who don’t have a frickin’ clue where they are. Limits create demand and spark creativity.
Congrats Pecha Kucha, you’ve leapfrogged the coolness that was Ignite and went straight to being an event based solely on entertainment.
